Install in 3 steps
Download the installer for your system, run it, and find Magnific inside Affinity.
macOS
- 1Download the .pkg installer and run it. It installs for your user only, so macOS asks for no admin password.
- 2In Affinity, open Settings (⌘,) > Photoshop Plugins, click Add under Plugin Search Folders and choose ~/Library/Application Support/Magnific/Affinity Plugin, then tick "Allow unknown plugins to be used".
- 3Restart Affinity, open a document, select a pixel layer and run Pixel > Filters > Plugins > Magnific. The Magnific panel opens alongside Affinity.

FAQs
- The plugin requires Affinity 3.2 or later (the unified Affinity app by Canva) and runs on macOS. A Windows version is coming soon.
- Open a document, select a pixel layer, and go to Pixel > Filters > Plugins > Magnific. The Magnific panel opens in its own window, so you can keep working in Affinity while it runs. If the menu entry is greyed out, make sure a document is open and a pixel layer is active.
- Yes. Sign in from the panel with your existing Magnific account, or create one for free at magnific.com.
- Yes—the plugin runs on the same credits as the web platform. Everything you generate is also saved to your Magnific history. Plugins always consume credits from your account, even if you have a plan with unlimited features.
- Results apply straight back to the pixel layer you ran the filter on, fitted to its size. Everything you generate is also saved to your Magnific history.
- Check that the installer's folder — ~/Library/Application Support/Magnific/Affinity Plugin — is listed under Settings > Photoshop Plugins > Plugin Search Folders, that "Allow unknown plugins to be used" is ticked, and restart Affinity. Also note the filter only lights up when a document is open and a pixel layer is selected. If macOS blocks the plugin, check System Settings > Privacy & Security.
